BRITISH ROYAL IRISH RIFLES VICTORIAN FROCK COAT.

The four pocket jacket known as the frock coat, this was a working tunic in regimental colours of extremely dark green bordering on blue with lighter green Swedish style cuffs having four pleated pockets and having the front with Norfolk jacket-type pleats. The lower collar is piped in the identical Melton green as the Swedish cuffs. Throughout the tunic are Victorian Queen’s Crown Irish Rifles type buttons with harp and full scroll. One epaulette button missing. Fixed waist belt. The blackened rank stars to the epaulettes are missing, these are extremely easy to obtain. Three holes to the rank of Captain. The overall condition for its age is exceptionally good with one or two tiny moth nips and a little wear to the black silk lining.
