GERMAN WWI IMPERIAL GERMAN GAS MASK, LEATHER FACED.

A very good example of the leather faced gas mask, the mask itself with good strong leather, undamaged eyepieces with all the elastic head strapping. Profuse markings to the filter, which still has much of its field grey paint remaining. In its original field grey painted canister with virtually all the paint intact and its full compliment of compressed paper long strap and lower steadying strap. The upper inner lid carrying four spare lenses with the container and the base of the tin is dated ‘1917’ with what appears to be a maker’s ink stamp.
