A beautiful condition solid skull all felt field grey pickelhaube for a Prussian Pioneer Reserve unit. Good size skull, approximately size 57, The fittings, which comprise of the non removable spike and circular spike base, the standard Prussian plate but without scrollwork and Reserve brass cross to the centre, its front peak trim and buckle fittings are all in one white metal indicating Pioneer unit. The clip posts for attaching the strap to also in white metal, complete with both its national and State cockades, leather chinstrap excellent. Its 10 tongued liner in unworn condition with its original drawstring. Slight evidence of two separate owners names hand applied by indelible ink to the inner rear peak, one has been rubbed away.
