GERMAN WWII HERMANN MEYER CAP.

This is a very good example of the Hermann Meyer cap, large size of 58 complete with its original and unique set of Bevo woven light tan on darker tan national eagle and national cockade. There are two types of construction of the Hermann Meyer cap, one is a soft non twill material, which can become quite flopping and unattractive, the more desirable amongst collectors is the heavy twill more stiff version of which this is the heavy twill version. It has the three zinc buttons for the neck flap, the leather double buckled chinstrap is missing as is the neck flap itself. It has seen minor wear use at the forehead area but has lain untouched for many years. It has a film of dust and was recently discovered in a garage sale in the United States. A very good example.
