GERMAN WWI PRUSSIAN NCO’S PICKELHAUBE.
An excellent condition large size, possibly 58, all leather skull pickelhaube, the main body is totally undamaged, standard congealing to the front and back peaks but both peaks are securely attached to the body. All of the fittings, which include the back strap, non removable spike, circular spike base, Prussian front plate, NCO/officers type flat chin scales and front peak trim all match in colour. The crown to the front plate is cut out as for an officer, the helmet is fitted with officers national and State cockades, the only item that differentiates this helmet from a full officers is the pearl ring around the base of the spike. The domed circular spike base attachment and the NCO’s liner, which is all complete in superb condition containing 14 tongues of leather all undamaged. The interior of the helmet retains virtually all of its original mid tan colour. There is an original paper label affixed to the interior, which reads ‘Unteroffizier Franz Ronn 11th Company Regiment 114’, the label is slightly damaged but all the letters are still readable.
