GERMAN WWII POLICE M.40 DOUBLE DECAL COMBAT HELMET.

An rare helmet being a very large size ET68 M.40 helmet having internal oval dome stamp. Faint traces of the owner’s name marked into the rear skirt. Fitted with its correct M.40 liner and zinc liner band with its nice toned to gold police non-bordered decal with the swastika border decal to the opposite side. The shell retains virtually all its original paint finish with some slight rust bleed showing through the paint, which hopefully our web images have picked up. The paint remains to two of the liner retaining rivet heads, one has some slight losses. Unusually one of the ventilation holes has been plugged, which was fashionable in WWI when plugholes were quite often attached to M.16/M17/18 helmets. The liner is complete with excellent colour, stamped size ‘61’ with original drawstring and the helmet is complete with its original chinstrap, which is maker marked and dated ‘1940’. A superb helmet.
