GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE FLAK STANDARD.
One of the most attractive and desirable artefacts of the Third Reich was the regimental flags, whether they be Army or Luftwaffe, the Kriegsmarine flag cannot even be mentioned as one has never been discovered, this is a very fine example of the Luftwaffe flak artillery standard. Good bright colours overall, one minor stain to one of the white rays on the Luftwaffe eagle and swastika side, one tiny spot of oxidisation to the silver embroidery to the right hand wing tip of the large Luftwaffe eagle, the flag is with its complete silver fringe, there are no areas of shredding or degrading of the silk and it is complete with a set of its streamers. When removed from the original pole the flag was not crudely cut as so many were, it had been unpicked and therefore the Berlin Embroidery Company’s logo is still visible to the end that wraps around the now replaced rather thinner pole , it is marked ‘H & S Berlin No.20’, with a complete set of streamers. At present it is affixed to a non original pole and would have to be removed from the pole for shipping.
