GERMAN WWII AFRIKA KORPS PHOTOGRAPH ALBUM.

A fantastic photograph album for an Afrika Korps member, the album contains 125 of the most magnificent images of the life of the Afrika Korps soldier. The album measures 33 x 23cm, standard cloth covering, which was available commercially in Germany at that period of time. The album begins in 1942, pictures of men and officers on the front page wearing 1st pattern visor caps, German Cross in gold winner, a German officer wearing captured Australian slouch hat, further images of groups of soldiers lined up in the desert, fantastic close-up images of white top bleached 1st pattern caps, life in the desert, canteens, seated in various vehicles, camouflaged vehicles under tree possibly in Tunisia, images of two captured British soldiers, images of an air attack, destroyed British tanks, annotations on images in open desert outside Tobruk, German tanks close up, Tobruk signs, further destroyed British tanks, German flak gun crews with the Afrika Korps insignia painted to the gun shield of the palm tree and swastika, images of the Major Georg Briel being presented to an Afrika Korps General, packed 38 guns firing in the desert, MG42 crews in operation in an anti aircraft roll, medal award ceremonies in the desert, 1943 in Tunisia, drivers with sun and sand goggles over their visored field caps, groups of officers at conference in the desert, Georg Briel again with his Knights Cross at his neck, very interesting shot of an officer with a tray of War Merit Crosses and Iron Crosses for awarding, images of General Leutnant Werner Marcks in attendance at the medal ceremony. Possibly the most in-depth Afrika Korps album we have ever seen.
