GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS BATTLE WORN CAP.

A very nice battle worn jaunty shaped officers cap, good size 57, named to the inside ‘Seesslen’. One small moth nip to the crown area, no other moth damage. The officer has removed the upper sprung steel inner ring to the cap and shaped it into this jaunty battle shape. Standard mohair centre band with silver waffenfarbe to the crown and to the edges of the mohair band. A matched set of wire woven insignia with some strands missing from the tips of the eagle. Standard officers cap cords. Double ribbed Luftwaffe early style peak. To the interior the ersatz type lining is all intact but has some breakages. The upper inner cotton lining is heavily discoloured through wear use but still with complete undamaged original ‘Schellenberg Sonderklass’ marked central lozenge. Ideal for setting off a pilot mannequin.
