GERMAN WWII GERMAN CROSS IN SILVER GENERAL’S CITATION.

A scarce end of war field issued citation for the German Cross in silver to Dr. Karl Echerle, who was in charge of Luft Flotte Kommando 6 dated ‘10th June 1945’, issued after the official end of war on the 8th May with an ink signature of ‘General Siegfried Westphal’. Issue rubber stamp with the swastika removed and an official letter dated ‘2nd July 1945’ confirming the award of the German Cross in silver to General Dr.Echerle. An extremely interesting letter indicating that the Command structure of the Third Reich forces was still in being as of July 45. The German Cross in silver citation has been folded twice with one mark from a paperclip.
