GERMAN WWI WURTTEMBERG GENERAL’S TUNIC.
A most fabulous large size tunic for a Wurttemberg General. The tunic is the 1910 pattern feldrock. Two upper pockets with flaps, the pocket bags are to the interior of the tunic, two lower pockets with curved edge pocket flaps, again pockets to the interior of the tunic. Deep turned back cuffs, which are red piped, matching red piping to the front of the tunic. All of the buttons are of the Prussian style in gold. Apple green collar with the most superb high quality Imperial larger size collar patches and the shoulder boards intertwined with Wurttemberg fleck. Beautifully lined to the interior, loops to the right hand breast for four awards and fitted with a long medal ribbon bar containing 11 awards. This tunic was at one time in the stock of Regimentals and was part of the Marshall Daut collection, which was purchased by Regimentals in the middle 1990’s and this same tunic can be seen on page 230 of the work Field Grey Uniforms of the Imperial German Army 1907 to 1918 by Michael Baldwin and Malcolm Fisher. Two minor nicks to the cloth at the lowest button, apart from that the tunic is excellent.
