GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

A very nice condition huge size Luftwaffe officers high saddle shaped visor cap. The cap is probably a size 60 although non size marked, it is completely free of any moth damage to any part of the cap. Standard configuration of Luftwaffe blue grey, fine officers quality non ribbed material, mohair centre band, wire waffenfarbe to the upper crown and both the lower and upper levels of the mohair centre band, fitted with a good matched set of non oxidised national eagle and cockade, some strands slightly loose from the lower leg of the eagle. A set of officers cap cords in bullion wire. Pebbled side buttons in white metal. Double ribbed peak commonly encountered amongst Luftwaffe officers caps, slight chipping to the edge of the peak. To the interior the lining is in gold, double Erel marked, one gold blocked to the mid tan leather sweatband that does show minor wear use but is unbroken. The gold lining is good with the centre celluloid lozenge all complete with the ‘Erel Sonderklass’ marking the lozenge. A superb condition large size cap.
