GERMAN WWII ARMY PANZER OFFICERS CRUSHER CAP.

A very good example of a large size, possibly 59 or 60 old style officers cap known as the crusher, constructed in canvas field grey green material. No moth damage anywhere on the cap. Standard dark green centre band, silk panzer pink waffenfarbe to the upper and lower sections of the centre band, also the crown area. Fitted with its correct untouched silver Bevo weave officers eagle and national cockade. The peak is not of the soft leather variety but is of a bendable fibre. The cap has never been fitted with cap cords, as is standard for this cap. The mid brown leather sweatband all intact and undamaged, one old collector repair to the reverse side of the sweatband in one point with one other area split. The cap is lined in a blue silk material. Complete with its centre celluloid lozenge, which has a slight crack and misshapen area at the upper point of the lozenge, with the remains of a faint retailer’s mark in gold with the logo below ‘Die Gute Mutze’ (the good hat).
