GERMAN WWII CAVALRY OFFICERS VISOR CAP.
A good service worn saddle shaped cavalry officers visor cap, size approximately 56 or 57. The hat has seen much service, the nap to the cloth on the crown is thin, the colour has bleached slightly, the golden yellow waffenfarbe has also lightened a degree, the original golden yellow can be seen in the hidden overhang sides of the cap. Some thinness to the crown maerial near the very high point of the cap. No moth damage. Complete with a stamped aluminium national eagle, bullion wire cockade with metallic centre, standard wire woven cap cords with twin pebbled side buttons. The leather sweatband in mid tan all complete. The upper inner crown area is lined in a light tan rayon, considerable wear to the area around the undamaged centre celluloid lozenge, which has the full blocked name of the retailer in Vienna to the centre. The original orange cushion behind the forehead area of the sweatband has half of it remaining. A good service worn cap that would fit well with a matching service worn tunic.
