GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE GENERALS WHITE TOP SUMMER CAP.

A superb cap being the private purchase one-piece construction Luftwaffe General's white top visor cap, we mention one-piece construction as these have appeared previously with the removable white top similar to the standard officers. The last General's cap we had of this quality in one-piece construction was the cap of Luftwaffe General Otto Prinz, where we discovered his whole trunk of uniforms in Weisbaden in 1987. We mention this as an indication as to how rare this type of cap is. Beautiful upper body, very minor surface discoloration, standard officers mohair centre band, the most excellent gold embroidered national eagle on white backing cloth, which has been sewn applied to the white upper body, matching set of a gold cockade below with a very high quality heavy woven gold cap cords. Gold side buttons and gold waffenfarbe on the upper and lower sections of the mohair centre band. The peak is black to the interior with the typical Luftwaffe double strengthened edge. The inner mid tan sweatband has evidence of wear use. The interior is gold silk lined with the retailer's name gold blocked to the undamaged and complete celluloid centre lozenge 'Paul Preuss, Stettin', the town of Stettin at this present day in Poland. A magnificent piece. This item is re listed due to a un completed lay away plan.
