GERMAN WWII INFANTRY REGIMENT 17 OFFICERS VISOR CAP.

A very nice approximately size 56 high saddle shaped officers visor cap with Infantry Regiment 17 or 41st Cavalry Regiment for the 4th Cavalry Division. Nicely constructed Gabardine field grey green material with white waffenfarbe to the upper and lower sections of the dark green centre band, also the crown. One minor moth nip to the very rear of the dark green centre band, apart from that the cap is totally moth free. Fitted with a mixture of heavy nickel national eagle, bullion wire cockade and heavy nickel skull and crossbones Totenkopf tradition badge. Standard officer wire cap cords, matching pebbled side buttons and with a crushable front leather peak. To the interior the sweatband is of the ersatz variety, it is all complete but is torn in three places and cracked in two others. The upper inner lining material is of a type we have had before is in a grey silk or rayon, is stitched in a multi lozenge pattern, with its original centre celluloid lozenge and has the highly unusual trademark over an image of the globe of the world.
