GERMAN WWI M.17 CAMOUFLAGE TRENCH HELMET.

A very nice example of a camouflage trench helmet, the maker coding is too lightly stamped to read but the size is clear at '64'. The exterior is a nice example of a three colour camouflage pattern with good bright ochre green and plum with some abrasions as can be seen. The helmet is complete with all of its three inner liner pads, the horsehair stuffed pads are missing, the tip of two tongues have been torn and collector repaired, all the remaining tongues are excellent and it is complete with its ultra rare leather chinstrap twin buckles. There are faint traces of two separate wearers names hand applied to the inner rear skirt at the rear of the helmet. One of the side liner retaining rivetts is missing.
