GERMAN WWI WURTTEMBERG NCO's PICKELHAUBE.

A very nice large size 58 all leather pickelhaube worn by a senior NCO in a Wurttemberg Train Battalion. The leather skull generally good, a small area of the skin missing to the upper right hand side of the skull measuring 3cm x 1cm. The remainder of the skull is excellent. Minor congealing to the front and back peaks, both of which are securely attached to the main body. The helmet is fitted with the enlisted ranks officers gilded quality back strap, tall officers spike, circular spike base, officers stars, complete with its domed chin scales, Wurttemberg officers cut out crown front plate, officers front peak trim, officers complete liner. This must have been for a senior NCO to have so many officers fittings, the only NCO's fittings to the helmet are the back strap and the national and State cockades. The front and rear peaks are fitted respectively with green and red lining with its officers quality light tan scalloped edge sweatband and interior silk. A very nice helmet overall.
