GERMAN WWI 1ST PATTERN BODY ARMOUR.

A very good example of one of the evocative items of WWI, the individual soldier's body armour. This example having much of its original paintwork remaining, scratches and losses to part of the upper breast plate that protrudes and some light rust to the lower left and right hand edges of the breast plate and to the rear of the shoulder sections. The armour still has all of its felt pads that run between each plate to avoid the plates banging against each other and causing undue noise. The strapping that holds all the plates to each other is good and strong, slight rusting to the web strap where it loops through the brackets on the upper breast plate but this has not degraded the webbing and the lower plates can hang with confidence that the webbing is not going to break. Please be aware of the weight and shipping costs on this item.
