GERMAN WWII ARMY SONDERFUHRER VISOR CAP.

A scarce cap to obtain are the caps and uniforms of the Sonderfuhrers, these were specialist officers within the Wehrmacht and wore distinctive caps, set apart from the standard cap of the Wehrmacht. Normal construction, high saddle shape, nice quality ribbed material with an administration green piping but having the feature of a grey centre band instead of the normal dark green. This is the only feature on the cap that sets it aside as a Sonderfuhrer. Complete with a nice matched set of stamped aluminium national eagle and cockade. A set of wire woven cap cords with silvered pebbled side buttons. One minor moth nip to the green waffenfarbe to the upper right hand side of the national eagle and one at the rear overhang. The cap is approximately size 56 or 57, it is Erel produced, the mid tan leather sweatband is all intact with evidence of minor wear use, undamaged. The inner upper lining is in a green silk or satin with the full ?Erel Sonderklass? trademark, although rather dull, underneath the undamaged celluloid lozenge. To the left hand wing of the eagle the fitting pin to the hat is present but has broken away from the main body of the eagle however the eagle is in place at the correct angle.
