BRITISH ROYAL NATIONAL LIFEBOAT INSTITUTION TELESCOPE.

A lovely old telescope engraved to the body in block capitals 'ROYAL NATIONAL LIFEBOAT INSTITUTION 1861. All in its original fitted wooden cylindrical case. Also engraved in Victorian style script 'DOLLAND LONDON DAY AND NIGHT'. The telescope is operational, the lens is rather stained, the what appears to be copper exterior body with the remainder of the telescope all in brass. The telescope when extended is 100cms, with closure 57cms. The wooden carrying case is beautifully constructed in possibly mahogany with its brass hinges and brass closure catch. A lovely displayable item.
