GERMAN WWI SLATE GREY TROUSERS.

A set of the extremely hard to find combat trousers for the Imperial German soldier. These are the late war slate grey pattern, they have been service worn and have been through a repair depot. As the trousers are viewed the left hand knee area has been replaced with a large very good matching slate grey patch, there are various darns to the other knee and other small darns. The seat is of the reinforced type, the pattern of cut is the standard style with two slanted open pockets without flaps, both of the pocket entrances have been reinforced. The fly buttons are all of the zinc zeltbahn type as are the brace buttons. Standard watch fob pocket. Very high waist at the back with the long adjuster belt at the rear with one open rear pocket with zeltbahn closure button. The white cotton lining is very clearly marked with size stampings, makers stampings and unit stamping to '5./J.R.76 2nd Kompanie' with the original owner's name label of what appears to be 'Miesner' with his regimental marking of '5./J.R.76' identical to the rubber ink stampings. The trousers good to complete an Imperial German mannequin whether they be the early field grey, the breeches or the late slate grey, legwear are the most difficult element of the Imperial German uniform to obtain.
