GERMAN WWII AFRIKA KORPS 2ND PATTERN FIELD CAP.

A very well service worn 2nd pattern M.41 visored field cap. Faint remains of makers markings and model designation to the interior red lining but too faint to identify. The cap is approximately size 56. It has its original Bevo woven correctly attached national eagle and cockade. At one stage in its life the front brim of the hat has been so worn that the owner has recovered the rim edge to a width of 1cm. Various other wear holes to the material on the peak and in the area above the national eagle. Other minor spotted stains and light field repairs. To the interior the very narrow canvas sweatband that was a feature of the 2nd pattern caps has been removed and evidence of heavy wear use around the forehead area. A good classic heavy service worn tropical field cap.
