GERMAN WWI BAVARIAN WARTIME INFANTRY OFFICERS HELMET.
A very nice and extremely large size all fibre bodied pickelhaube indicating that it was constructed during WWI when leather became short. The front plate is of a reserve infantry officer with the large nickel Reserve Officers Cross to the centre of the very finely and deep crafted Bavarian front plate. Domed chin scales, square cut front peak, all correct national and State officers cockades. Slight dullness to the gilding to the spike, however the spike is interesting being the unscrewable M.15 style. To the interior the light tan leather liner is all complete in superb condition with its inner silk. Ink marked inside the shell size '58'. One tiny domed rivet that holds the front section of the spike cruciform to the helmet is missing. All three other stars are complete.
