GERMAN WWI BAVARIAN 2ND SCHWERES REITER RGT NCO OR 1 YEAR VOL HELMET.

An extremely nice large close to 57/58 size all leather pickelhaube worn by an NCO in the reserve regiment of the 2nd Heavy Cavalry. The all leather skull with minor crackling overall, both peaks securely attached with crazing to both peaks. The gilt to the NCO's back strap, fluted removable spike, cruciform cross base and very large and beautifully deeply struck front plate, also the domed clip-over chin scales all matching. The plate has some original frosting remaining to it with its silver reserve cross to the front plate. To either side of the helmet are the Reichs and Bavarian cockades in enlisted ranks form. To the interior the leather officers quality mid tan leather liner is all intact with its silk inner liner, the silk inner liner has shredded in places with stitches loose. A beautiful helmet.
