GERMAN WWI WURTTEMBERG LANDWEHR INFANTRY OFFICER PICKELHAUBE.

A most superb condition large size Wurttemberg Landwehr Infantry officers helmet. The skull is in excellent condition, slight crazing and sinking to the crown area. The gilt to the back strap, removable spike, cruciform spike base, front plate and chin scales absolutely magnificent. The cross to the front is plain. The helmet is fitted with a standard officers Reichs cockade and a red and black non serrated style Wurttemberg officers cockade. Square cut front peak. Both peaks are securely attached to the main body. Some congealing to the patent leather on both the front and back peaks. On inverting the helmet the green and red lining to the front and back peaks respectively are excellent with its very light tan leather liner and interior light tan silk indicating very little wear use. The helmet is pencil marked '57' to the inner crown. There are remains of a maker's label to the inside and the word 'Federleicht' (feather-light) stamped to the inner crown. The helmet is complete with its original officers field cover and its carrying box with all strapping intact to the carrying box.
