GERMAN WWII BRANDENBURG DIVISION GROUPING.
A rare paperwork grouping of the Brandenburgers, comprising Iron Cross 2nd class citation, standard A5 form, folded once awarded to Unteroffizier Otto Jarosch of the 9./JG.-RGT.2 Brandenburg, dated 11th March 1945 facsimile signature of the General Major of the division Schulte Heuthaus. Wound badge in black, standard A5 sized citation, folded 2nd February 1945 for the Wound badge in black signed by Unit Doctor of the 2nd Jager Battalion, Brandenburg. The rare soldbuch in good condition with photo pass head and shoulders, hatless, wearing M.43 uniform. Entry for his joining the 2nd Jager Regiment Brandenburg, stamped for his being in Regiment Brandenburg from the 15th August 1939, a full list of his awards, War Service Cross 2nd class with swords, East Front medal, Krim Shield, drivers badge in bronze, General Assault badge, Iron Cross 2nd class, black Wound badge. Also enlisted is an army telegram recording him to his unit. He was wounded in March 1945 and subsequently transferred to replacement unit, therefore avoiding being captured by Russians. The Brandenburg unit was first formed as a German version of the British SAS and before the latter was created. It was a highly secret unit operating behind enemy lines often in enemy uniforms and using enemy weapons and vehicles. One of its operations was a seizure of the Crimea, hence the award of the Krim Shield to this man, in September 1944 he passed from the control of the armys intelligence section the Abwehr and became a Panzer Grenadier division fighting on the Eastern Front and on the Oder east of Berlin.
