LEGION CONDOR SIGNALS SECTION ARM PATCH.

This ultra rare piece of Third Reich insignia being a 3 inch x 2? inch oval section of black base material embroidered in gold, with a surrounding wreath. Central circle. A lightning flash pointing upwards through the circle joining to a swastika at the base. All hand embroidered, with an accompanying photograph of a Legion Condor officer being presented to Herman Goring, clearly showing this insignia being worn on his upper left sleeve, in this case in the backing cloth colour of the Condor Legion material. This item recently acquired from the collection of noted collector George Petersen. We can only speculate as to why the backing cloth on this item is of black material instead of the unique olive brown of the standard Legion Condor uniforms. Although the tank group known as Gruppe Drohne are only known to have worn black berets with olive brown uniforms, this insignia may have been instituted and not worn for parade purposes on the black Panzer wrap-over uniform. Whatever the theories may be, the item is extremely rare and has never previously been published in any work since our original description of this rare item , a serious collector in Germany has informed us that the insignia is a special insignia worn by Luft Nachrichten Abt 88 ( only 2 companies present ) who were part of the Condor Legion the collector has a Soldbuch with the insignia clearly awarded to the inside of the book and 2 metal badges in the identical form plus 1 piece of this insignia in cloth and wire form identical to ours
