GERMAN WWII NSKK CHAINED OFFICERS DAGGER.
An early model NSKK chained officers dagger, blade by Carl Schmidt of Sohn a-g-Solingen, the blade is generally nice and bright, some minor stain marks close to the tip, much original cross grain finish remaining with good deep etching to the Ulles Fur Deutschland logo. Complete with its matching early heavy nickel upper and lower cross guard mounts. Stamped ‘WF’ to the rear of the lower cross guard indicating the area of Westfalia. Grip excellent without any damage. High quality national eagle with an undamaged SA enamelled inset. All fitted into its black painted NSKK scabbard with an excellent set of Assmann & Company manufactured chains. Minor chipping in places to the scabbard otherwise virtually all the black remaining. All five screws to secure the upper and lower and centre mounts to the scabbard intact without their heads being turned. The ball on the lower cross guard mount is undented. Chains excellent, deeply stamped ‘Musterschutz NSKK Korpsfuhrung’ to the last link with ‘RZM 5/8’ to the opposite link. This dagger was originally issued as an enlisted ranks dagger with an officers scabbard purchased when the owner was promoted to officer rank. An extremely nice example.
