GERMAN WWI SEE BATTALION OFFICERS SHAKO.

A scarce helmet in the Imperial series, being the officers Shako for the Imperial German Marines known as the See battalions. Black patent crown and front and back peaks, black cloth sides, fitted with its See battalion officers front plate, flat chin scales, one officers side cockade, and officers See battalion wire woven bullion field cockade, the cloth sides to the helmet have light moth damage and thinness of nap, all peaks securely fitted. To the interior the officers mid tan leather sweatband all complete, with evidence of wear use, with its original green inner lining, pencil marked to the upper inner crown 54 ½, a scarce piece of Imperial German headdress.
