U.S. 1866 WINCHESTER MUSKET.

A very nice example of the military musket version of the 1866 brass framed repeating carbine. The model 66 was produced in three models, the cavalry carbine, the military musket and the hunting rifle, the hunting rifle differs from the other two in having an octagonal barrel, the other two have round barrels. Many of the military muskets were ordered from overseas countries this example produced in 1872, serial number ‘111,395’. Brass frame clean and nice without any damage, all of the wood original, somebody has carved the initials ‘TK’ into the butt stock. No repaired damage, some minor scratches and indentations to the wood, again no parts replaced. Complete with both of its sling swivels. Faint traces of original blueing especially around the flip up sight area. Action fully operable with faint Winchester markings to the upper barrel area close to the flip up sight.
