A fabulously rare item being a virtually bleached white officers field cap. Factory applied officers silver waffenfarbe, which has oxidised and shredded to the virtual circumference of the crown, the waffenfarbe on the lower scallop is more intact, with its originally applied standard enlisted style blue on tan Bevo woven eagle and matching 1st pattern cockade. Slightly shredded inverted V pink waffenfarbe, slight strengthening repairs to be stitching where the peak meets the main body of the cap. As a consequence of the bleaching all of the makers marks have completely faded away from the inside. Any knowledgeable collector will see the originality and the rarity of this cap at one glance.
