BRITISH ROYAL NAVAL AIR SERVICE FLYING COAT.

An extremely interesting coat of long dimensions manufactured in a beautiful quality black leather, these coats are probably an inter-war period and were issued to early RNAS pilots for open cockpit use. The item is civilian produced and clearly aimed at the government market with the trademark label Adastra to interior. The leather is excellent and supple throughout, there is a fine quality tartan blanket-like lining and silk lining to the sleeves. All buttons are the large format type and there are various pockets for entry to the under garments. There are one or two well executed repairs and the original belt is present.
