A flying helmet known as the Warren helmet was in most cases purchased commercially either by private flyers or military flyers, this is a definite government issue example. The exterior of the helmet still with good light brown colour, minor indentations to the crown, all the original air vents present, both side and ear protectors in place with all their correct lining, chinstrap and buckle. To the upper inner canvas crown a very nice paper label, which reads ‘No.2 Aviators safety helmet’. On pulling down the 9 tongued liner, which is all intact, the faint remains of a WD issue stamp can be seen behind the tongue of one of the forward parts of the liner. A very nice example overall and rare to be issue stamped.
