A very nice example of the 1851 .36 calibre Colt 6 shot revolver. The full ‘Colonel Sam Colt New York’ address visible to the flat section to the top of the frame, the action excellent, as the hammer is withdrawn the revolving chamber turns exactly to its right position. The revolver has good colour overall with much original finish present. It is all matching in numbers ‘185357’ in four places. It is clearly marked ‘.36 calibre’. The wood grips are totally original and undamaged. Some abrasions overall to the wood and some metal parts but a good honest Colt navy pistol from the U.S.Civil War period.
