IRISH VICKERS HELMET.
A good example of the helmet made by Vickers Limited for the Irish Army of 1922. After their service life had come to an end all of the Irish M.16 style helmets were painted white and used by the Irish Civil Defence organisation of the Republic of Ireland. This example is clearly stamped ‘Vickers Limited’ to the inner rear skirt and individually numbered, complete with its original three pad liner with all its inner liner pads and its chinstrap, which is the same as the M.16 German style helmet. A good degree of the original civil defence paint still adhered to the shell as can be seen on our web images.
