BRITISH WWII AIRBORNE SIGNALS HEADDRESS GROUPING.
A fantastic time warp pair of headdress belonging to a member of the Far East Airborne Forces Royal Signals. A 1942 maker marked and dated slouch hat, broad arrow marked, having to the face side the War Economy plastic badge of the Royal Corps of Signals and to the left of the headdress as the headdress is worn a superb section of insignia being locally made in the three colours of the Royal Signals Corps, super-imposed with a hand embroidered parachute in white. The hat itself has some moth damage but fortunately not too destructive. Accompanying the slouch hat is the same owner’s ‘1944’ dated Kangol Wear maroon beret, leather trimmed, complete with an Indian made Royal Corps of Signals applied badge. Minor moth nips to the crown area and having exactly the same storage wear as the slouch hat. Both of the items have been brought home from the Far East and have been stored in either a shed, garage or loft space since WWII. A superb pair.
