A superb example of the last model in the series of M.16, M.17 and M.18 helmets of WWI. This is a good size, marked ‘TJ66’, the exterior retains virtually 100% of its original grey painted finish with some slight faded sections with a light flavour of rust coming from the steel shell through the paint on the rear right hand side. The interior also retains much of its original colour. The three liner pad system in cream leather all intact and complete with its inner horse hair pads, one of the cream leather pads has a congealed and split tongue. The unique carbine type clip 1918 strap is complete but has split in one section to the middle, this could be collector repaired. Underneath the carbine clip is clear maker’s mark and ‘1918’ date.
