BRITISH WWI MACHINE GUN CORPS OFFICERS TUNIC AND CAP SET.
A very heavily service worn shoulder rank tunic worn by an officer in the Machine Gun Corps with his matching Gor Blimey style officers trench cap. The tunic with bronze collar badges for the rank of Lieutenant. All buttons of the Machine Gun Corps regimental pattern. Matching bronze Machine Gun Corps officers collar badges fitted. To each sleeve there is a small white over red unit patch. Also fitted to the tunic two service stripes and one wound stripe. As previously stated significant service wear with moth damage coupled with staining and nicks to the material, slight tears, we have done our best to point out these damaged sections on our images but inspection is desired. The trench cap is a rare item complete with its fold down side curtains, Machine Gun Corps officers badge, multi stitched lining in a lozenge pattern, twin air vents to each side of the cap with only very minor moth nips to the crown area. Generally overall a very good cap and also complete with its correct First World War narrow chinstrap. A good but worn set.
