BRITISH WWI CHAPLAINíS VISOR CAP.
An ultra rare visor cap worn by a British Army chaplain in WWI. The cap is approximately size 56, it is the standard floppy style of cap so often seen in the trenches. The basic body is in excellent condition, some minor nicks to the cloth close to the chaplainís blackened badge and in the peak area, otherwise overall very presentable and collectible. The blackened chaplainís cross has never been removed from the cap, the clear outline behind the crown where the material has dropped forward onto the crown itself has left a big impression. black chin strap indicating Chaplain servic,. The side buttons we have never encountered before, they are of the football leather type with the form of chaplainís cross impressed into the leather. At the rear of the cap there are eight ventilation holes, to the interior it is fully lined with the crown in the classic multiple circular stitching encountered with WWI period tailoring.
