A fine example of a white piped cap of doe skin construction, with all cloth insignia. The lower flat wire officers cockade insignia has slightly faded to a beautiful light field grey colour. The upper cap eagle is of high relief bullion construction and appears to be a period addition to smarten the appearance. The soft crushable patent peak is excellent with only minor crazing. The complete head band is good and supple and just slightly loose to the front forehead section. There is a full combat quality cinnamon cotton lining. Maker stamped to the crown shield with verdigris to the original gold blocking. Very minor moth nips throughout with one or two well executed collector grade repairs.
