IMPERIAL GERMAN M.18 EAR CUT OUT HELMET.
A superb example of the very scarce M.18 ear cut out helmet in its original WWI form. Field grey paint is superb overall with some minor rust spots showing through. Slight rubbing to the paint of the crown. Stamped ‘E.T.64’ to the inner skirt. Complete with its correct M.18 cream liner pads with metal band. The original drawstring is in place. The liner is undamaged but showing wear use with two of the original leather padded pads intact, one pad missing. The carbine clip remains only of the leather chin strap. It is extremely difficult to find these helmets in their original form and many were re-used during the Third Reich period and have replacement M.40 liners and with either single or double Third Reich decals attached.
