GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE FLIGHT OBERLEUTNANT'S TUNIC.

A very nice condition Berlin tailored four pocket Luftwaffe officers service tunic in the standard configuration of four button closure, four pockets all with flaps with pleats, deep turned back cuffs, open collar style, fitted with stitch-in Luftwaffe yellow flight based shoulder boards, at the very tips of the shoulder boards the yellow material has worn through, this is quite typical of worn service tunics, Wire cord to the collar, yellow based Oberleutnant's collar patches. A nice early droop tailed heavy wire woven Luftwaffe officers breast eagle. Iron Cross ribbon to the first buttonhole. Two pre stitched holes to the pleat of the upper right hand pocket for one single award. 'Berlin' tailor's label to the upper inner neck area, the name section of the tailor has shredded with the silk. Some minor wear repairs have been collector repaired around the collar and some minor moth nips across the back panel have also been lightly repaired. To the inside pocket a typical canvas tailor's label with the name of the owner and a date of '1936' however the canvas has worn too much to be able to identify the name. To the interior the tunic has a quite unusual double section pre tailored hole for the passing through of a dagger or sword hanger with one loop and D ring. At the very base of the inner lining a section has been replaced through wear, possibly contemporarily. This is a nice service worn Flight Oberleutnant's tunic.
