GERMAN WWII LUFTWAFFE OFFICERS CRUSHER CAP.

A very scarce variation of the Luftwaffe officers visor cap. This standard saddle shaped cap approxiamtley size 56.5 cm constructed in the most beautiful soft Melton material with minor moth tracking to the crown and one repaired moth hole to the left hand side in a magnificent condition. Standard mohair centre band, silver wire waffenfarbe to the upper crown, a matched set of wire woven national eagle and cockade with matching chin cords with pebbled side buttons. To the interior the all leather light tan sweatband in place showing minor wear use. A small section of the inner cork forehead cushion has broken away, the interior is lined in silver rayon. There is evidence where the centre celluloid lozenge has been removed. The uniqueness of this cap is that it is the crushable version, the peak has the same double strengthened edge as virtually all of the Luftwaffe officers caps but it is soft and pliable with the sides also being of a much softer material allowing the cap to be crushed virtually flat.
